What a sad moment for MEPZ II, Basak, Lapu-lapu City, Cebu employees and of course to the family of my dear co-employee. The incident happened last May 22 near the condemned building, approximately 100 meter from Petron Gasoline station MEPZ II, Basak, inside a multicab. It was Friday night at about 7:30 pm at Maximo Patalinjug avenue. The multicab was bound for MEPZ II, I'm not fully aware if the origin of the vehicle either it came from Pusok, Lapu-lapu or Highway, Mandaue. At around 9pm at the office, the guard on duty received a called from police authority that one employee from our firm was involved in a robbery incident. It was confirmed by the Plant Manager Monday morning.
Sad to say those robbers were merciless. Imagine how desperate they were. After they declared a robbery; one of the killer stabbed him inside the multicab but he was able to get off the vehicle; unfortunately he was not able to run because he was in pain and bloods gushed out from the wounds which was stabbed by the robber who seated beside him. While he was down,he screamed for help,no good Samaritan help him, instead one of the robber get back at him and fired a gun at his head. The victim name is Rexel Gonzalez; a product support engineer from a semiconductor test firm in MEPZ II ; all of us in the office mourned for what had happen to him, I remember the word of the Lord, "Vengeance is mine says the Lord", I believed that the Lord is not sleeping and He will not allow those robbers to roam around free.
Of course, I have faith in our police and our local authorities. I hope they were doing their best to capture those merciless culprits and protect the skilled workers of Lapu-lapu City.
Two points that I want to raise;
1) Are these robbers and killers reside in Lapulapu City? Well, it's in the hand of our local authorities, whoever handle this case to determine their whereabouts.
2) How fast can they solve case like this? I hope justice would be serve the soonest possible time.
